Pluto and Charon, seen from the Keck Observatory, 4 August 2011.  The gif covers about 4 hours of real time, enough to comfortably see Charon orbiting a little.  I don’t know why one of the background stars suddenly goes dim; I don’t think it matches up with a change in the wavelengths being observed, though it’s possible I made a clerical error.  (Program ID N281N2.)
